I hope this performance helps people realize that the Showa is a human tragedy shared by all the people of Earth, that we all must learn from.

This is beautfiul. Not only the song, but the fact that as far off as Hong Kong, people know about and commemorate HaShowa.

This is impressive, given the cultural barriers (Western music, song in Hebrew, a film about events that have no links to the Chinese). What saddens me is the number of times I have heard or read Muslim authorities saying, not just that Western music is taboo, but that ALL music is sinful and forbidden. They teach this in Muslim schools, so their children will never sing in choirs like this. To me, that is the sin. How many Muslim composers and musicians will never achieve a thinhg.

I hope these students learned the story behind the tune as well as the translation of the songs they sang.

This is so touching to someone who lost part of my family when I was six years old. Thank you CU Chorus for your kindness.
